- With SD WinHider you may hide and restore windows or system tray icons and manage any window apperance: control windows transperency, set or change windows icons, replace title and so on.
- Software allows to free your desktop space for more windows, change windows attributes to fit specific use, hide not required or rarely used tray icons.

- How to use it?
Download, install and run.
- On first start it will show main window. Press 'Settings' for list of available settings options. You may configure hot keys, program behavior functions and review/manage currently created automated rules to manage windows.
- On next starts program will be completely quite (unregistered version will show registration dialog; registered version will show nothing). You may always invoke program window with keyboard shortcut (default: Alt+Ctrl+Up Arrow) or prgram icon.
- You may manage windows on main program form: check/uncheck checkbox to change window visibility; right click window record to choose specific tool to manage: title, icon, transparency.
- Each tool has two options: 'set for now' and 'set as rule'. First temporary changes windows attribute until program is restarted; second creates rule for any similar window.
- For each rule you may specify window attributes to check if rule matches: application, window title and window class. Each attribute is processed by 'AND' rule.
- You may review or change set of created rules by choosing 'Settings->Automated rules' form. Here you can review rules, assign new names, delete rules or temporary disable them.
- Rules are always saved to disk thus after WinHider is restarted, rules will work.
- To review and manage tray icons just press 'Tray icons' button. Tray icons form is similar to main form abd has similar functions.
- Practice: HOW TO?
- Active content on your desktop
1. Run specific application for providng active content: slide show, system performance monitor or any other monitoring software and so on. Open it as full screen or at specific desktop position.
2. Open WinHider. Right-click your program window record, choose 'control transparency'. Choose 'Desktop wrapper' preset and press 'Set for now'.
Software window will become visually transparent and transparent for mouse (thus you may use any desktop items behind).
- 'Reminder'
1. Run specific software: for example - Windows notepad. Make your notes.
2. Open WinHider. Right-click your program window record, choose 'control transparency'. Choose 'Flying over windows' preset and press 'Set for now'.
Your 'reminder' becomes visually transparent, transparent for mouse and it would be above all windows thus always visible.
- Different window icon... Forever!
1. Open WinHider. Right-click your program window record, choose 'control window icon'.
2. Choose icon source file to select new icon you like.
3. Press 'Set as rule'.
4. Specify rules to select window: application only, application and window class or application, window class and title.
5. Press 'Set'.
WinHider will apply icon you specified to each window that matches your criteria.
- Hide tray icon
1. Open WinHider. Click 'Tray icons'.
2. Right-click icon record, choose 'always hide (rule)'.
3. Specify rules to select icon: application only, application and window class or other crterias, including icon identifier.
4. Press 'Set'.
WinHider will hide tray icon whenever it appears.
- Trial limitations
- Program shows 'register' dialog on each start;
- Rules count is limited to 3 for windows and 3 for system tray;
- Software will not hide own tray icon.
