- SD SmartMouse
With this application you may launch any application or windows shell commanand just with mouse motion!
Draw any symbol with mouse, assign command for it, and now - all you need to run the command - just repeat your mouse motion!
You may either hold both Ctrl and Alt keys and draw command symbols directly on your desktop, or draw them
on 'notepad sheet' - SD SmartMouse command drawing window.
Drawing a symbol, like 'O', 'C', 'W', 'M' with mouse is often much faster then search launcher icon throught menus or toolbars!
Key features:
- Up to 300 motions to recognize;
- Recognizes drawings on own window, as well as desktop motions;
- Unique SysDevSoftware (R) SmartMotion engine used!
- Easy training mode!
- Assign/re-assing command;
- Motions browser.
- How to use it?
At first run, program "doesn't know" any motions and asks you for configuration.
You may either create new configuration profile or use existing one (see demo configuration; it's recommended to override it due to your hardware/motions specifics).
Application may recognize drawings on its own 'notepad sheet' window (click application shortcut window and draw some figure with left mouse button pressed)
or may recognize mouse motions over desktop and any other windows (be sure that 'Draw on desktop' flag is checked in 'Settings').
Just hold both Crtl and Alt and move mouse. Be sure you relesed Crtl+Alt after motion.
If you did forget 'command symbol', you may browse commonds: invoke menu (click tray icon, then choose 'Browse commands').
Click on command to see how symbol looks (small circle indicates motion beginning point) and its assigned command.
Don't care about motion size or proportions: application should recognize it!
Have recognition problems? Just train it: choose 'Trining mode' from menu and repeat your motion!
Can not be sure you can repeat motion correctly? Or your motions are some different from time to time? Just create set of motions to launch same application!
- How to train it?
Application runs but not recognizes your motions? Not a problem!
Ivoke program menu (click tray icon or right-click main window), and choose 'Training mode'.
Don't be in hurry.
Draw some 'symbol' you want - application will say if it recognizes it.
If not - it asks for 'Add new command?' confirmation.
Now you may add it (click 'Yes' to confirm, 'No' if do not like the symbol).
If you have chosen 'Yes' - program will display 'command browser' in 'edit' mode.
You may now create new command (press 'New' button) or choose exiting command in list to replace the 'symbol' (
check some checkbox near existing command and press 'Select').
Try to draw it again. Recognizes? Good! Not recognizes? May be you did it some different?
Just replace current 'symbol' for a command or add one more (on practice: it's better to have 1-2 instances of the same 'command symbol' to carry out some 'variations').
Try again it few times. If you have stable recognition, you may finish. If not - it's recommended to replace the 'symbol' few times (untill you will have 'stable' recognition).
Turn off training (choose 'End training' from menu) and try to draw the symbol again. Your application or command will start!
- Limitations
Unregistered version is limited to recognize 5 motions only.
- Tricks
- To launch some application, program uses window shell. So any file could be launched with default 'Open' action.
For example, if you specify following line as a command:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
this will be 'Show Desktop' command.
- Type some URL as command (f.e. as "http://www.sysdevsoftware.com"), and 'on command' it will be opened in your default browser!
- Can start the command with 'main window' drwaings but have difficulties to launch with desktop motion?
The problem might be because you draw on desktop some differently (in this case - use 'Training mode') or you "don't feel" hotkeys.
Recommendation: hold 'Ctrl', then hold 'Alt' immediatelly before/after motion starts. Release 'Alt' immediatelly after motion (then may release 'Ctrl'). In this case you will have most correct motion record!
You may use some other commands or files. Don't be afraid to experiment!
Unable to make it work as you wish? Just practice for few minutes, train it and it will serve for you!
